Mica HeliskiingLodge in Revelstoke
Viking Heliskiing Iceland specializes in heliskiing trips in the north of Iceland. We are headquartered in Þverá in Ólafsfjörður and Tröllaskagi (Troll peninsula) is our main heli-skiing area, a world-class skiing area with thousands of slopes waiting for their first descents.
The founders of Viking Heliskiing Iceland are both former ski racers and members of the Icelandic National Ski Team. They are both Icelandic Olympic athletes and World Cup ski racers. In recent years they have mainly engaged in ski guiding and backcountry skiing. Viking Heliskiing has a powerful team of skillful and experienced ski guides, specialized in challenging skiing conditions.
We offer all-inclusive packages with accommodation in the exclusive Viking Heliskiing Iceland lodges, surrounded by towering mountains on all sides where you can, for the last run of the day, ski down to their lodge.
The main lodge consists of the dining area, where our chef prepares a top-notch food for our guests. You will enjoy gourmet meals based on fresh Icelandic foods, such as goose, lamb, and arctic char. After an active day in the mountains, it is ideal to sit down at the bar in the main lodge and unwind with a glass of wine or a pint of the Icelandic Viking beer and watch our chef prepare the dinner.
Our guests will have their own 100m² Cabins that has 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and a jacuzzi. In all lodges, there are new quality beds made up with comfortable linen, soft towels and warm blankets.
Another option for accommodation is The boat Skjöldur, a 28 ft boat that the Viking Heliskiing owns. You could say that the boat is the shield of the Vikings. On sunny days or when there are down days, Skjöldur is used for extra activities, such as fishing and hunting seabirds. You might even see some whales.
In terms of heliskiing, there are few places in the world with as many possibilities as Tröllaskagi. The area is vast and largely unexplored. The skiing slopes are truly unique, with a panorama of amazing slopes waiting for their first descents.
Prepare for different skiing conditions; fresh powder skiing, skiing in the stable spring corn snow, which is perfect for steep and extreme skiing and more exposed lines than you normally find where avalanches are more likely. Our vertical drop is up to 1500m or almost 5000 ft. in the unbelievable Arctic mountains.
In the winter you can ski until it’s dark and watch the majestic northern lights dance in the sky. In the springtime, there is nothing like skiing down slopes in between the towering peaks, ending the ride where the shoreline meets the North Atlantic.
“… Bjorgvin, was a master of knowing the terrain and finding the best lines for us. They have a very talented staff! We ate 5-star meals, every day. The breakfasts had homemade French pastries, fruit, Icelandic yogurt, bacon, eggs and many sides. Their dinners rivaled the best, fine restaurant. It was an outstanding heli AND foodie trip. The owners are expanding to include mountain biking in the summer and other summer activities. The area the lodge is in, is remote and beautiful. I highly recommend Viking Heli Ski!” TRIPADVISOR
