“We really enjoyed our stay at the Suarga Padang Padang. The hotel offers a panoramic view of the sea, which we enjoyed day and night. Every evening we sat in the hotel’s bar watching the beautiful sunset and listening to the chilled out house music – this was the highlight of our time at the Suarga.” TA

Bali’s iconic surfing scene blossomed in the late 1960s and early ’70s after eager Hawaiian, Australian and Californian surfers discovered the endless glassy barrels of Uluwatu. Complemented by Bali’s warm hospitality, adventurous surfers were soon hooked, camping out at simple warungs along Padang Padang, Impossibles, Bingin, Balangan and Dreamland.
Today, Bali’s Bukit Peninsula is a world-class surf destination; alluring thousands of thrill-seekers year round. Padang Padang’s legendary left-hand reef break, nicknamed Bali Pipeline after Hawaii’s famous Pipeline, is notable as one of the island’s most hollow waves and is reserved for advanced surfers. For beginners and intermediates, there is a smaller wave closer to the beach that is fun and easier to catch.
