Originally designed as a family home, Perivolas still feels like a private residence. Intimate in scale and atmosphere, every house is different. Built by native craftsmen using local materials, interiors embody Cycladic style, with its organic forms and smooth surfaces.
Breezy rooms are naturally cooled by sculpted stone walls and vaulted ceilings pierced by skylights. Beds are built into snug alcoves, adorned with a posy of hand-picked flowers. Niches and archways are scooped out of whitewashed walls, low-slung sofas offset by hand-woven rugs and cushions in vivid fuschia and lilac.
Timeless and quietly glamorous, interiors are pared down so that nothing distracts from the show-stopping views and nothing disturbs the intensity of the stillness. Nothing is superfluous, yet nothing has been overlooked. There are no TVs and DVDs – this is a place to switch off.
The Caldera, seen from a boat is a source of wonderment. Images do not do justice to the magnitude, or to the changing shapes and colors of the marine landscape as you float on the water. In a converted wine cellar, the serene Perivolas restaurant caters exclusively to our guests. Our Head Chef Nena Ismyrnoglou has created a contemporary Greek menu and daily specials using the flavorful seasonal local produce, served with unaffected simplicity. Enjoy an elegant poolside lunch of grilled octopus served with quinoa tabbouleh, Moussaka “a la minute” and a variety of Aegean Mezedes, as prepared by Chef de Cuisine Fotis Roufas. Full of fresh aromas and flavors this menu guarantees a culinary journey of Greece and the Mediterranean that will please the eye as well as the palate. The tranquil poolside terraces offer the perfect dining experience, as well as great views of the sunset. In the evening, our menu features the freshest fish served in a style that will satisfy the most discerning and the most health-conscious of our guests. A perennial favorite, the Perivolas salad is the perfect accompaniment to any entree, and of course, there is so much more.
